#36: How To Capture The Stories That Communicate The Impact of Your Mission
Jun 01, 2019
Why is it you chose a career in the field of nonprofits?
To make an impact. To give back. To help those in need.
Iâm guessing all of the above.
And as good as it feels to know how many people your organization has served, or how much youâve collected in donations, those numbers really arenât why you do what you do, right?
Itâs the stories of people in need, people youâve helped, people who now enjoy better lives because of the work of your organization that really keeps you connected to the cause.
And as true as that is for you, itâs just as true for all those around you.
Thatâs why itâs so important to share those stories of impact and inspiration.
But itâs not always easy.
Gathering story details from a client can sometimes be a delicate matter.
How do you get them to open up while respecting their privacy, and go beyond âwhatâ they received to âwhyâ it was so important?
In todayâs podcast Iâm sharing what I know to be the best interview techniques and questions to ask to help you conduct interviews with your clients so you can tell their stories in a way that honors them while communicating the importance of your mission.
